Who we trust. Who shows up.
I’m a Houston-based writer and investigator. I follow local government, public money, and the relationships that make a community work.
I founded Urban Reform and LocalInsights. My writing has appeared in the Houston Chronicle, City Journal, and WIRED. I also discuss the work on television, radio, and Texas Tomorrow.
My first book, The Brotherhood Effect: Why All Men Need Real Friends, looks at what real friendship asks of men and what it makes possible. Hopkins Press publishes it on 16 February 2027.
